  i'll have you know that 'nati,' posting on http://www.orangeguru.net/weblog/, says tom cruise is a genius, and as far as i know, nati was not an extra on the set of 'endless love.' nati did buy a pirated copy of 'taps' on 'bar street' in beijing, but everyone is doing it.

  1953 'war of the worlds' factoid you must know:
  The reporter speaking into the tape recorder just before the atom bomb is used is Paul Frees. Frees, although deceased, is still the voice of the 'ghost host' in the Haunted Mansion rides at the Disney parks.

  My word for it is "unger". Speilberg should have had Johnny Depp, play Cruises roll, and Depp could have channeled Felix Unger and Charles nelson Riley to play the hero. Think about it. C'mon though, Speilberg's genius is unrelenting, he must have 10 houses and a jet, he donates funds to all Jewish causes, and makes us remember that being attacked, is like honoring Kurosawa. CGI rules.

  Or Spielberg, even.

  It'll be months before I see it, of course, but I'm really looking forward to Tim Robbins' bit. I like most of his movies, but I love movies where he doesn't have any behind-the-scenes responsibilities and can relax into his acting.
